Dangerous Times for Georgia

“Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.” Exodus 18:21
You aren’t seeing it quite yet. It’s in the background. But, it’s posing a great danger to our state.

The 2017-18 Election Cycle is quietly in full swing, with the window closed to qualify for the special elections this November and the time drawing near for viable candidates to declare to run in 2018 – a historic year for our state considering the drastic change in leadership that will occur.

Are the men and women who will appear on your ballot worthy? Are they qualified to lead the thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens?

In many cases, yes they are. In competitive races for governor, lieutenant governor and secretary of state, we are blessed to have great candidates who have stepped forward who would lead our state in a more Christ-honoring way. Others are stepping forward to lead in the Legislature.

But, some seats will not have a pro-family candidate on the ballot. In many cases around the state, only one individual will stand for election – with no one stepping forward to hold that person accountable. In many others, even in “red” districts, there will not be an option to select a leader who will truly fight for life, parental rights, religious freedom or other policies that flow from a biblical worldview.

That’s why I’m spending so much time travelling around the state, meeting with candidates and recruiting worthy leaders to run. It’s so important!

While the election season hasn’t yet brought annoying ads to your TV screen, it’s certainly in full swing. The coming months will set the course for who will lead our state, and we are working to make sure we have worthy leaders for Georgia.

You need to know: Special elections for the General Assembly will take place in November. The following districts will have new representation when the next legislative session kicks off: HD 4, HD 26, HD 42, HD 89, HD 117, HD 119, SD 6 and SD 39. We are working to raise up and elect pro-family leaders for those seats and others that will come open in 2018. Please consider supporting our efforts today.

Please pray for: Please pray that the Lord raises up godly leaders, that we will have wisdom and discernment regarding who to seek out and who to support, and that we will have the resources to make a difference.

In case you missed it: Christian groups are outpacing government activity to assist those in need following the recent hurricanes. What a great testament to the power of the love of Christ! An article on the issue can be found here: Faith-Based Groups Step Up Big-Time for Hurricane Victims.
