It’s a matter of life and death

Despite federal law prohibiting the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions, federal funds don’t just flow to pro-abortion organizations and providers like Planned Parenthood, they surge toward them. A new report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office found that Planned Parenthood alone received $1.8 billion from the federal government between 2019 and 2021–three years during which they performed 1.11 million abortions.

On the other hand, pregnancy resource centers (PRCs), which promote life and help moms and their babies before and after birth, have seen their funding come under attack.

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Biden administration has proposed a new rule to divert federal resources away from PRCs – meaning that some funds will be taken from organizations that are in the business of saving lives, and given instead to organizations that are in the business of taking lives. It’s as if the White House is saying, “Abortion without restriction, for any reason, at any time, without end.”

PRCs deliver care to millions of families each year in communities all across the nation. Through pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, parenting classes, and more, PRCs support women through pregnancy and beyond. Whereas Planned Parenthood has gained a reputation for easy access to abortion and experimental hormone drugs, PRCs have built a reputation of compassionate, pro-life care.

Thankfully, several states recognize the important work PRCs do to support life and are stepping up to fund PRCs following the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Roughly $250 million has been committed to PRCs across 16 different states. Lawmakers in these states recognize that now, more than ever before, women need support both during and after pregnancy.

But more support is needed.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:21 that “…where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” We don’t need to ask where the Left’s heart is, we need only follow the billions of dollars heading to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. Can the same be said about those who cherish life and the support PRCs need every day?

The fight for life is happening now.

The Biden campaign is pledging to restore Roe and so-called “abortion rights” if President his for reelection is successful, and PRCs are at the very front lines of the fight, offering life-saving alternatives to abortion. We have the opportunity to be in their corner and support life with our own time, talents, and resources. Contact a local PRC in your community today to find out what you can do to help.
