Please Welcome Our New Director

December 6

Family Policy Alliance of Idaho is pleased to announce John Paulton as the new Interim Director of the organization.

John is a 30-year veteran of the policy and political arena, advancing conservative, pro-family policies in Idaho and throughout the nation. It is timely that he takes this position now, with the state legislature set to convene in January for what is expected to be a very busy session for issues related to life, family and religious freedom.

Mr. Paulton is one of the original Family Policy Alliance team members – moving over from Focus on the Family when Dr. James Dobson launched what is now Family Policy Alliance in 2004. Since then, he has directed scores of policy initiatives and election projects throughout the country. He has also served and equipped the Family Policy Alliance network of 40 state organizations.

Prior to that, John served as executive director of a family policy organization in South Dakota for eight years.  The organization enjoyed particular success in the legislative arena, passing several pro-family measures that were among the first of their type in the nation.  For this work, he was honored by the Family Research Council with the Faith, Family & Freedom Award.

Earlier, Mr. Paulton was a lobbyist and campaign consultant for five years, managing legislative and political campaigns in several states.  John received his B.A. in History from San Diego Christian College in San Diego, CA.  He and his wife, Sandy, have three children, including a daughter who works on health care for The Heritage Foundation and a son who is a West Point cadet.

John is excited for this new role. “Having spent the majority of my life in the Rocky Mountain West – Colorado, Wyoming and the cattle ranch I grew up on in the Black Hills of South Dakota – Idaho feels like home. And this is a pivotal time for Idaho, as we work to protect the values and the freedoms that have made this a truly special place.”

Please take a moment to welcome John by sending an email.  Thank you for standing with Family Policy Alliance of Idaho and making this work possible.
