It’s been an exciting and encouraging few days in the North Dakota legislature. Last Friday, the sexual orientation Senate Bill 2303 went down to defeat by a margin of 27 to 20. This means our wives and daughters are safe in bathrooms and locker rooms, religious freedom is still protected, and employers do not need to fear lawsuits arising from this piece of legislation.
The other significant win occurred today. House Bill 1336 seeks to ensure that women seeking abortions will be provided complete information, including the fact that RU486 chemical abortions can be reversed after the first pill. This bill was sponsored by one of our own Statesman Academy graduates, Representative Dan Johnston, and we want to thank Representatives Skroch and Becker for giving floor testimonies in favor of the bill. It passed the House this afternoon by an overwhelming vote of 73 to 16! Praise the Lord! The bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.
I am convinced of three things about these bills:
First, your prayers uplifted us here at Family Policy Alliance of North Dakota and members of the legislature voting on these two important bills.
Second, you contacted your legislators and they heard you.
And third, biblical values prevailed.
Thank you again for your support.
There are many more bills we will need to tackle this legislative session, but thanks to you, we’re off to a great start. We are and will continue to be your voice in Bismarck, representing your values. Blessings for all you do to protect and advance pro-family and pro-life values in our great state!
