Family Policy Alliance President & CEO, Paul Weber (R) with Isabella Chow (L)
Faith on Campus
A special note from Isabella Chow
Do you remember Isabella Chow’s story?
Isabella faced unbelievable backlash simply for sharing her faith on campus. Isabella is a student senator at the University of California—Berkeley. In November, Isabella lovingly explained why she couldn’t vote in favor of a resolution related to the transgender issue. She spoke compassionately, but in truth, saying, “I cannot vote for this bill without compromising my values…I believe that God created male and female at the beginning of time, and designed sex for marriage between one man and one woman.”
Because of Isabella’s bold stand for faith in one of the most hostile environments in America—the public university—we asked you to join us in praying for Isabella and sending her messages of encouragement.
And you did! Nearly 1500 of you sent notes to Isabella! And, she has a sent a note back to you!
To my beloved family in Christ –
I wanted to personally thank you for the overwhelming number of encouraging messages, letters, and emails that I’ve received. As challenging as the past couple months has been, the Lord has been so faithful to protect me physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and to give me strength and peace when I needed it most. I am truly humbled and grateful to know that believers all over the world have been praying for me and the Christian community at Berkeley, and I know that your prayers have made a tangible difference.
Next semester, the Christian community plans to nominate and, by God’s grace, campaign sufficient votes to elect another Christian candidate. I thank God for the many brothers and sisters from fellowships and churches all over Berkeley who have stood by me as their elected Senator, and am excited to see the Lord raise up more leaders who are unafraid to love and speak the truth in love on the Berkeley campus. Thank you again for your encouragement and prayers for myself and for UC Berkeley – excited to see what God will do in the months and years ahead!
Gratefully,
Isabella Chow
Thank you for taking time to encourage Isabella who unintentionally became a hero of faith!
And, we have exciting news! Each year, our sister Foundation hosts an exclusive, invitation-only Statesmen Academy to train and equip godly men and women serving in the mission field of public office. The Academy provides hands-on training, fellowship with believers, education on public policy for the sake of the Gospel, and guidance for elected leaders on the practice of effective politics to carry on the fight for godly values. And this year, Isabella Chow will be joining these Christian lawmakers as our special guest so that they have the opportunity to hear her inspiring story firsthand!
When our CEO, Paul Weber, met Isabella Chow in California (see picture above), he extended the special invitation to her to join us at the 2019 Statesmen Academy.
Already, 52 Statesmen Academy alumni are serving you in Congress and state legislatures around the country. We can’t wait to meet the new 2019 Academy class of outstanding Christian leaders and to hear from Isabella!
Thank you again for showing the love of the Body of Christ to Isabella.
If you would like to give a tax-deductible gift to support the Statesmen Academy, you can easily give here.
If you know of a Christian elected official or candidate who deserves to receive a nomination to the Statesmen Academy, please email Mail@FamilyPolicyAlliance.com to nominate them!
Standing for faith with you,
The Family Policy Alliance Team
