I have exciting news for you: the “Choose Life” Idaho license plate legislation was passed by the Senate last week and is on its way to the House of Representatives.
But before it gets there, it needs to be passed by the House Transportation Committee—and we need your help.
HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO: The House Transportation Committee hearing for Senate Bill 1249 will likely take place sometime this week—possibly as soon as Tuesday. Use our Action Center to send an email to key committee members asking them to support this important proposal. It only takes thirty seconds of your time, but you can make a difference for life by taking action now!
This legislation, sponsored by Senator Regina Bayer (R-Meridian) and Representative Brent Crane (R-Nampa), would add the “Choose Life” license plate as a new special interest license plate available at the Idaho DMV.
Of each $35 plate registration fee, $22 will be given to local pregnancy resource centers. Pregnancy resource centers compassionately provide care and practical assistance to women with unplanned pregnancies. The wide range of services supplied by these nonprofit centers give women alternatives to abortion and promote a culture of life.
Those of us at Family Policy Alliance of Idaho® know that you support providing unexpectedly pregnant women with hope and care. The “Choose Life” license plates help pregnancy resource centers to do exactly that!
