Kansas House Passes the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act

(Topeka, KS – April 9, 2021) – Late tonight, the Kansas House passed the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act (S.B. 55). This is a simple bill that ensures that only biological females compete in sports designated for females. Over thirty states have introduced similar legislation and three bills have been signed into law. There is broad bi-partisan support for similar laws that include student athletes, professional athletes, radical feminists, social conservatives, everyday parents, and faith leaders.

Statement from Brittany Jones, Director of Advocacy for Family Policy Alliance of Kansas:

“We are excited to see this important legislation for women pass the House 76-43. We look forward to a final vote in the Senate soon and sending this to the Governor’s desk. Kansans from all walks of life support girl’s sports and want to see the important gains for women continue into the future. We call on all Kansas policymakers to support women and ensure that they have on going opportunities.”
