His Power Is Made Perfect…

August 24

Dear Friends,

This week I’d like to take a moment. Sit back and breath. Inhale… Exhale.

Life is busy. Responsibilities pile up, the to-do list grows longer, and our strength seems to fail when we need it most. Feelings of fear, doubt, and discouragement often threaten to overwhelm us when we face these seasons of life, but this morning I was reminded of a very simple, yet profound truth that I want to remind you of as well.

2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “And He said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

I don’t know about you, but lately I’ve felt an overwhelming and overpowering sense of weakness. Not just because my plate is overflowing with to-do lists, meetings, and school lunches; but I feel it deep within my spirit. I have no control in the current situation within our society. I struggle, as many do, with balancing what’s best for my kids’ schooling, being the wife and mother who will honor God and bless my family, working from home in a career field that often sees more defeats than victories, and so much more.

The only word that consistently comes to me is weakness. Yet, I can still rejoice. I can still thrive. I can still overcome the day’s anxieties because the all-consuming, all-powerful, overwhelming grace of Jesus that was sufficient for yesterday’s struggle, is sufficient for today’s fear, and for tomorrow’s battle.

When weakness is all I feel, I can rejoice because I am finally at the place that is ideal for the perfect manifestation of God’s power. The struggle may continue in different forms from day to day, but so does His grace to get me through! My weakness may continue, but praise God that I’m no longer an obstacle to my own experience of His sufficient grace.

If you are facing a season of weakness, I encourage you to be so bold as to boast in your weakness today and allow the sufficient grace of Jesus to carry you while His strength is made perfect!

In Christ,
