Despite federal law prohibiting the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions, federal funds don’t just flow to pro-abortion organizations and providers like Planned Parenthood, they surge toward them. A new report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office found that Planned Parenthood alone received $1.8 billion from the federal government between 2019 and 2021–three years during which they performed 1.11 million abortions.

On the other hand, pregnancy resource centers (PRCs), which promote life and help moms and their babies before and after birth, have seen their funding come under attack.

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Biden administration has proposed a new rule to divert federal resources away from PRCs – meaning that some funds will be taken from organizations that are in the business of saving lives, and given instead to organizations that are in the business of taking lives. It’s as if the White House is saying, “Abortion without restriction, for any reason, at any time, without end.”

PRCs deliver care to millions of families each year in communities all across the nation. Through pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, parenting classes, and more, PRCs support women through pregnancy and beyond. Whereas Planned Parenthood has gained a reputation for easy access to abortion and experimental hormone drugs, PRCs have built a reputation of compassionate, pro-life care.

Thankfully, several states recognize the important work PRCs do to support life and are stepping up to fund PRCs following the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Roughly $250 million has been committed to PRCs across 16 different states. Lawmakers in these states recognize that now, more than ever before, women need support both during and after pregnancy.

But more support is needed.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:21 that “…where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” We don’t need to ask where the Left’s heart is, we need only follow the billions of dollars heading to abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. Can the same be said about those who cherish life and the support PRCs need every day?

The fight for life is happening now.

The Biden campaign is pledging to restore Roe and so-called “abortion rights” if President his for reelection is successful, and PRCs are at the very front lines of the fight, offering life-saving alternatives to abortion. We have the opportunity to be in their corner and support life with our own time, talents, and resources. Contact a local PRC in your community today to find out what you can do to help.

And if you’re ready to go even deeper in the fight for life, join us over at AfterRoe: Going Deeper to learn more about how you can support the pro-life movement. We have developed resources with you in mind and are eager to partner with you to advance life across the United States.

The Biden Administration is again attempting to hinder Americans’ conscience rights —this time to advance the contraception mandate under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

What is the Biden Administration proposing to do?

Some organizations rightfully have deep moral concerns with supplying the morning after pill, sterilizations, or other forms of birth control. As a result, they prefer not to include coverage for such options on their company health plans.  President Trump’s Administration protected these organizations’ right to make that decision. But now, the Biden Administration wants to revoke those protections and force these organizations to pay for that contraception through their health plans.

While the responsible Departments state they “respect non-religious moral objections” to contraception, this proposed rule completely undermines the moral fabric of many faithful organizations, including overtly pro-life groups, that serve women, children, and the public. The Biden Administration is intent on ensuring those organizations cover the cost of all forms of birth control approved by the FDA.

Additionally, the Biden Administration rigged a new funding mechanism for contraception that will use fees collected by the federal government to funnel funding to birth control providers like Planned Parenthood.

The Biden Administration needs to hear from you now.

Family Policy Alliance has prepared a letter for you to submit to the Biden Administration. It takes only SECONDS to send in your comment! Click here, then share this message with friends that are also concerned.

Here is an excerpt from that letter:

“Concern over the life of the preborn child is not just a religious one. Many individuals, even those who are not religious, recognize the beginning stages of an unborn life with features and DNA that are distinct from the mother carrying the child. These are the beginning stages of a rapidly developing human life—not some random growth inside the mother.”

The comments close this Monday, April 3, at midnight Eastern Time so please take a moment today to let your voice be heard!

For the midterms, Planned Parenthood announced a record $50 million spend.

At the same time, nearly every candidate running as a Democrat this election cycle decided to feature abortion at the center of their platform. That’s not a coincidence.

Taking a human life is lucrative. Saving a human life is not.

Behind the heavy curtain of the Democratic National Committee sits the massive abortion industry. Planned Parenthood alone rakes in over $1.5 billion annually. It has proven remarkably agile at increasing the demand for its product, manipulating $600 million in annual cashflows from taxpayer subsidies, and diversifying its revenue streams (think trafficking human body parts).

But behind the curtain of pro-life politics are newborn Americans. Some are in the arms of scared but brave mothers who were told they didn’t have what it takes to love their children. Others are in the arms of scared but brave adoptive mothers who volunteered to love someone else’s child as their own. All of them managed to avoid the Big Abortion machine. There, they would have become one of more than 600,000 babies each year who never find their way into someone’s arms.

There is no “Big Pro-life.” It doesn’t exist.

In fact, the pro-life movement is the opposite of an industry. Industries are hungry for profit. The pro-life movement actually advocates for Americans to choose the far more costly option of birthing and raising a child.

Pro-life work is rawly humanitarian. It is often thankless and politically risky, more likely to result in a net financial loss than a gain. Pro-life advocates rarely meet the babies they help save. Their motivation is their conviction that all persons are created equal and deserving of the right to life. As with all great human rights movements, that is more than enough.

And perhaps that’s why Democratic leaders are begging for your vote in 2022. They have everything to lose and nothing to gain in supporting the right to life.  Abortion masquerades as a social issue, but it’s money-driven Politics 101 at its finest.

The big, profit-driven industry cozies up to its political allies and hires lobbyists to keep them happy. Those lobbyists are rewarded for every year they maintain the industry’s government “contracts” on top of direct-to-market dealings. And just to ensure continued goodwill, the bloated industry drops some of its cash into the politicians’ campaigns.

Meanwhile, no pro-life industry means no money. The pro-life politician doesn’t receive a dime from the children and mothers she saves. Adoptive families don’t give kickbacks. Pregnancy resource centers—busier than ever providing mentoring, diapers, baby clothes and much more—don’t have the budgets or desire to become a political force.

To Big Abortion, the death of a child is worth as much as $750. To pro-lifers, the life of a child is priceless.

When money is involved, the picture quickly becomes clearer and more self-interested. That’s why President Biden made his desperate pitch to voters: vote for my party and we’ll give you the last 50 years of Roe abortion policy plus today’s abortion extremism. That’s why the President’s Administration officials are competing to see which policy can get the “attaboy” from Big Abortion fastest: free abortion travel from the Pentagon, abortions in public schools, abortions at Veterans Affairs facilities. Stay tuned for an announcement from the White House that it will be converting the West Wing into a surgical abortion facility with an abortion pill vending machine in the lobby.

It doesn’t matter that the vast majority of Americans disagree with late-term, on-demand, taxpayer-funded abortion. When Big Abortion pulls the strings, their puppets move into action.

This election, American voters will hear hollow words about a “woman’s right to choose” and that “abortion is healthcare.” When they do, they should stop and listen.

In abortion politics, money talks. And it’s a lot louder than the newborn cries that will never be heard.

Voting for life and for families,

In case you missed it, we want to make sure you know the top two things you can do to make a difference to protect life and liberty!

First, TODAY is the last day to tell HHS to STOP using YOUR taxpayer dollars from funding Planned Parenthood! The Biden-Harris Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a proposed rule that would authorize abortion groups to receive Title X Family Planning funds. The proposal also mandates that grant recipients refer for abortions.

But you can tell HHS to STOP using YOUR taxpayer dollars from funding Planned Parenthood!

Please click the link and write a comment to the Department of Health and Human Services telling them that you do NOT want to fund Planned Parenthood!

Here are a few points you can pick and choose from in your comment:

Second, last week, the Senate Rules and Administration Committee heard S1, the so-called “For the People Act,” (better known as “The Corrupt Politicians Act”). Democrats are doing everything they can to get this bill on the Senate floor as soon as possible. Please take a minute today to urge your senators to vote NO on S1!

You can help protect the foundations of our nation by stopping this dangerous legislation! Click here to urge your senators to stand for election integrity by OPPOSING S1!

Thanks for speaking up (and spreading the word) on these critical matters!

* If a program refers a client to abortion, it is in fact a program where abortion is considered a “family planning related service,” (as acknowledged on page 19818 of the proposed rule) and thus specifically is prohibited by statute.

Your voice is needed to oppose a proposed rule from the Biden-Harris Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that would authorize abortion groups to receive Title X Family Planning funds. The proposal also mandates that grant recipients refer for abortions.

Under the Trump Administration, Title X grant funding was prohibited from being used for abortion referrals, protecting taxpayers from funding the abortion industry. This proposed rule will overturn these taxpayer protections if finalized.

Taxpayer dollars should never be used to promote the killing of innocent life – yet that’s exactly what the Biden Administration is planning to do through this rule.

The Administration will use this rule to boost Planned Parenthood’s bottom line with taxpayer dollars. A footnote in the rule even states that funding Planned Parenthood through Title X would result in cost savings – not for the taxpayer – but for Planned Parenthood.

The proposed rule would also force Title X recipients to provide abortion referrals – proving just how committed this Administration is to its pro-abortion agenda.

Not only is the Administration determined to fund an abortion giant, but they want everyone else to get on board with the abortion agenda as well.

But you can tell HHS to STOP using YOUR taxpayer dollars from funding Planned Parenthood!

The comment period for this rule ends on May 17. Your comment can help make a difference by pushing back against this radical abortion agenda. Please be sure to share this information so the Department of Health and Human Services hears from as many people as possible!

Dear Pastor,

As you are aware, the so-called Reproductive Freedom Act is the most radical and dangerous abortion bill ever to be introduced in our state – or possibly any state. For this reason, we launched JerseyVotesNo.com to inform everyone on the real threats this bill would have on the health of women, the safety of minors, the rights of parents, and the consequences pro-life medical workers will face.

We are working together with a coalition of pro-life groups in our state to protect babies in the womb. Our efforts have proven successful. This bill is a priority for Governor Murphy and his wife Tammy, yet the bill has stagnated and still awaits a committee hearing. To counter these efforts, Planned Parenthood and a large coalition of pro-abortion groups are requesting clergy sign a letter of support for abortion up to birth to remain legal forever in our state by passing the so-called Reproductive Freedom Act! You can find their letter here.

Now, I look to you to communicate with the legislature the heart of God. I need you to add your name to a letter that opposes the so-called Reproductive Freedom Act. It is imperative that legislators know the real position of pastors in New Jersey regarding unrestricted taxpayer-funded, late-term abortions. If they don’t hear from you, they will only be hearing from other members of the clergy giving their moral stamp of approval to end the lives of babies in the womb.

Sign this letter today through our online form and share this email with your network of like-minded pastors. If you can sign on behalf of your church, please include the church name. If not, you can add your support by only signing your individual name and town.

Thank you for spreading the word!

Sincerely,

Shawn Hyland
Executive Director

This past Tuesday, Governor Murphy gave his State of the State address. Once again, he referenced his strong commitment to passing the most unsafe and radical abortion bill ever proposed in our state – or possibly anywhere.

“After years of willful neglect, we are funding women’s health care and family-planning services [Planned Parenthood] — and, no matter what happens in Washington, we are working to protect a woman’s full reproductive rights as a matter of state law [New Jersey License to Kill Act].”
Governor Phil Murphy, State of the State address, Jan 12, 2021, brackets added for clarity.

The New Jersey License to Kill Act (so-called Reproductive Freedom Act) rejects the pro-life beliefs of voters, to instead satisfy and subsidize the Big Abortion Industry. Did you know that this bill would codify into law that certified midwives and nurses can perform suction and surgical abortions? Why? Because the Big Abortion Industry can pay them less money than a licensed physician.  Planned Parenthood and politicians are jeopardizing women’s health by putting profits above people. It’s shameful, unethical, and it must stop!

Yet, Murphy’s administration is so committed to this agenda that he won’t wait for the law to be passed to implement these dangerous ideas! He has instructed the Board of Medical Examiners to change the rules regarding abortion care to allow non-physicians to perform abortions. This bureaucratic department is currently taking comments from the public regarding this rule change.

In response, I am excited to share with you that we have a webpage dedicated to opposing this abortion up-to-birth bill! You can go to www.JerseyVotesNo.com to learn more about this dangerous bill – including its sponsors and how you can contact them. Also on the webpage, you’ll find news stories, videos, and a resource you can share with others.

Additionally, billboards featuring the website are being erected near the offices of key senate sponsors across the state, including one (pictured above) at the entrance to Trenton, only 2 miles from the statehouse.

Are the kids in your life back to school, or headed there soon? Whether they’re returning in-person or online, you may find yourself concerned about the kind of material your children or grandchildren are exposed to in the classroom. Students as young as kindergarten face increasingly sexualized content and may encounter material opposed to your fundamental beliefs – and that’s just in the classroom.

Thankfully, parents don’t have to feel powerless in the face of the January back-to-school season. Our new easy-to-read guide, Back to School – for Parents, explains what you need to know about potential areas for concern in your child’s school, and helps you understand what you can do to protect your child.

In the article below, a version of which appeared in The Daily Signal, our Policy Manager and attorney Stephanie Curry shares more about the FREE guide, available for download at our website. Check it out today!

How to Stop Schools from Parenting Your Children
By Stephanie Curry

I’m tired of schools trying to play the role of surrogate parents.

Like too many parents across our nation, I’ve become increasingly concerned about the radical social and political ideas that are being forced upon our children in public schools.

While I’m raising my children with biblically based morals and values at home, schools are undermining and refuting those same lessons in the classroom. They’re striving to replace my role as parent, and that isn’t right.

Parents don’t just have a vague and general prerogative to parent their children. Parenting is a fundamental right. It is a foundational cornerstone of a civilized society and a right that is clearly defined and recognized by our constitutional law.

This fundamental right to parent includes the right for us to decide what kind of educational, moral, and religious upbringing our children will have, without unreasonable government interference.

Unfortunately, it seems this ancient right is lost on our modern-day school systems, which work overtime to teach our children a radical moral code of sexual identity—one that violates the beliefs of countless families.

We don’t send our children to public school so they can be forced to consider the morality of sexual lifestyle choices.

We don’t expect our first graders to be prompted to speculate about whether their biological sex is a question that has multiple answers.

We don’t expect teachers to lecture our children about the moral consequences of voting for one candidate over another or to tell our children (illegally) that they can’t pray at lunchtime.

And we certainly don’t send our children to school to be offered free irreversible medical treatments like abortions or encouraged to consider cross-sex hormones without our knowledge or consent.

Once the rare anecdote, these unexpected scenarios are now overflowing across the nation. There is an alarming trend that concerned parents need to know about. What exactly is happening in our schools, and what can parents do to protect their children?

At Family Policy Alliance®, we have released a new book, “Back to School—for Parents,” which takes parents on a journey through each part of the school system where student and parental rights violations are trending.

The guide explains the legal rights you and your child have in the classroom, school bathrooms, sports teams, the nurse’s office, and more.

For example, in the classroom, you have the federal right to view your child’s lesson plans, observe class, and review curriculum. You also have the constitutional right to opt your child out of classroom content that violates your religious and moral beliefs.

In the nurse’s office, you have the right to limit the type of medical treatment your child receives in school, such as declining all “abortion-related” materials.

You have the right to testify at local school board meetings regarding concerns you have.

“Back to School—for Parents” gives you specific suggestions you can carry out today to maintain your rights to parent and define morality for your child even when you send them to school.

“Back to School—for Parents” lays out precisely what you need to know to face the unexpected. So, if your child is silenced in class for their faith, or you encounter radical sexual rights-based education, or you discover what can only be described as pornography on your school’s research database, you’ll be empowered to know exactly what to do to ensure your child is protected.

In addition, co-publisher Focus on the Family has provided guidance for each topic on how to talk to your child about difficult issues with a compassionate, honest, and forthright perspective. The book walks you through conversations with your child on difficult topics, like sexuality, identity, pornography, and more.

With this guide, you no longer have to wonder how you can possibly protect your child’s moral, ethical, and religious beliefs at school—a place where some of the biggest controversial issues of this generation are argued.

We believe parents—not the government—are best at parenting. “Back to School—for Parents” will help provide much-needed support families are seeking so they can do what they do best—parent their child.

The guide is free for download at Family Policy Alliance’s website. Check it out and share it with friends and family today.
