BREAKING: Family Policy Alliance of Kansas Thanks Senate; Calls on House

Topeka – Today, the Senate overrode Governor Kelly’s veto of the common-sense Abortion Pill Reversal bill. If passed, Kansas will join eight other states (Arkansas, Utah, Arizona, Idaho South Dakota, North Dakota, Kentucky, and Oklahoma) that ensure that women have access to all information regarding their chemical abortion including a notification that it may be reversible, should they change their mind.

The override passed the Senate 27-13.

While the House failed to override the veto by one vote today, House members may reconsider their vote to override the veto again tomorrow.

This law simply ensures that women who are seeking a chemical abortion have access to information that it may be possible to reverse a chemical abortion once they have taken the first abortion pill but before they take the second.

A Statement from Brittany Jones, Esq., Director of Advocacy for Family Policy Alliance of Kansas:

“The Kansas Senate has proved once again that it will stand for life and for women’s access to important medical information notwithstanding the Governor’s attempt to ignore the will of Kansas voters.

“Family Policy Alliance of Kansas calls upon the Kansas House to do the same, giving all of its members a chance to once again show their support for this common-sense policy to protect babies and their mothers.

“We call on all House members who voted for this bill to take a stand for life.”
