Family Policy Alliance of Georgia Statement on

Heartbeat Legislation Passage in Senate

Atlanta–Today, the Senate today passed the Heartbeat Bill (HB 481) legislation that protects preborn children from abortions once a heartbeat is detected. Georgia is one of several states to consider heartbeat legislation this year with Mississippi and Kentucky already enacting it and both Ohio and Tennessee moving in that direction.

A statement from Cole Muzio, President of Family Policy Alliance of Georgia:

“The Senate’s strong vote today affirms the continuing momentum behind the scientific and self-evident reality that babies with beating hearts are living and worth protecting. The facts are thoroughly on the side of life, and the support behind this bill continues to grow in our state and even beyond our borders. Governor Kemp’s leadership on behalf of the unborn is making a profound difference, and we look forward to getting this landmark legislation to his desk.”
