Big wins for children, life and truth—here’s what’s happening

June 25, 2025

Dear Friend,

Three years ago, the Supreme Court handed down one of the most important pro-life victories in our nation’s history—and today, we’re seeing ripple effects that are shaping our courts, our laws and our culture. From major legal wins to bold new protections for children, momentum is building—and your Family Policy Alliance is right in the thick of it. Here’s a quick roundup of what’s happening and why it matters.

Celebrating the Overturn of Roe—With Work Still Ahead

Yesterday marked three years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade with its landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. That moment changed everything.

Since June 24, 2022, we’ve seen a dramatic shift—many states have taken bold steps to protect life, passing laws that recognize the value of every preborn child. But we’ve also seen the other side fight back hard.

Right now in New York, 11 pregnancy resource centers are in court defending their right to speak the truth—about the risks of the abortion pill and the hope of abortion pill reversal. The state’s Attorney General is trying to silence them.

And over in San Diego, a pro-life advocate is pushing back on a city ordinance that restricts speech near abortion clinics. These are the battles happening now.

So while we continue to celebrate Dobbs as a major victory for life, we also know the work isn’t done. Not even close.

Family Policy Alliance is committed to advancing a culture where life is truly cherished—in every state, for every child. Visit our After Roe page to see how you can stay involved.

Texas Steps Up for Detransitioners

There’s good news out of Texas!

The Lone Star State just passed a first-of-its-kind law: a Detransitioners’ Bill of Rights. This law requires insurance companies that cover gender-transition procedures to also cover the medical care needed to detransition—a much-needed safety net for those who’ve been harmed by the lies of gender ideology.

This breakthrough was made possible by our friends at Do No Harm Medicine, who drafted the model legislation, and our allies at Texas Values who championed it locally. We’re proud to have endorsed this effort.

The brave voices of detransitioners are one of the biggest reasons 25 states have passed Help Not Harm laws to protect kids. Now, Texas is taking the next step—to help those who were hurt find healing. And that matters.

Olympic Star Backs Down After Gender Sports Debate

Olympic legend Simone Biles recently found herself in the spotlight—this time not for gymnastics, but for her criticism of women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines.

After Biles pushed back on a post about a girls’ softball team with a male player, she faced major backlash. She apologized… and then deleted her X account altogether. All of this came right as the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its ruling in United States v. Skrmetti last week.

While Skrmetti didn’t deal directly with boys in girls’ sports, it did uphold laws protecting kids from puberty blockers and irreversible surgeries. Chief Justice Roberts even said outright that only biological women can become pregnant—a powerful return to truth. And Justice Thomas called attention to the suffering of detransitioners in his concurring opinion.

We’re seeing the tide turn—in courtrooms, online, and in the culture.

Thank you for being part of this movement. None of these victories would be possible without the faithful prayers and generous support of friends like you. As we celebrate how far we’ve come, we remain focused on the road ahead—continuing the fight to protect life, defend truth, and build a nation where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished.

With gratitude and determination,
The Family Policy Alliance Team
