Beyond Dobbs: Helping Women Choose Life

June 25, 2026

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, many Americans thought the battle over abortion was largely won.

Four years later, the reality is far more complicated.

In our latest episode, Craig DeRoche sits down with Clare Ath, head of government affairs for Human Coalition, one of the nation’s largest organizations where women facing unplanned pregnancies can find support, resources and alternatives to abortion.

The numbers she shares may surprise you.

Human Coalition expects to serve approximately 50,000 women this year who are actively considering abortion. Even more striking, Clare says that 78% of the women they’ve served say they would prefer to parent if their circumstances were different.

So what’s driving so many women to believe abortion is their only option?

The answer isn’t what most people think.

Craig and Clare discuss:
• The biggest need women facing unplanned pregnancies consistently identify
• Why Dobbs was a critical victory, but not the end of the fight
• Why state-level policy battles are becoming increasingly important
• New proposals that could help support parents when they need it most

Changing laws is only part of the solution. The deeper challenge is changing hearts, strengthening families and ensuring women know they are not alone.

The work of protecting life didn’t end with Dobbs, and it won’t end here. Family Policy Alliance will continue equipping you with the information and opportunities you need to make a difference through your Family Policy Council, action alerts and voter engagement.
