John Paulton is the Manager of Mobilization for Family Policy Alliance, overseeing both legislative and election mobilization.
Mr. Paulton has deep experience in both public policy and politics – especially at the state level – as for nearly 30 years he has directed lobbying and election work in dozens of states. And since 2001, when he joined Focus on the Family and subsequently Family Policy Alliance, he has worked in tandem with countless policy makers and concerned citizens in establishing and equipping state family policy organizations around the country.
Prior to 2001, John served as executive director of a family policy group in South Dakota for eight years. Under his direction, the organization enjoyed particular success in the legislative arena, passing several pro-family measures that were among the first of their type in the nation. For this work, he was honored by the Family Research Council with its Faith, Family & Freedom Award.
Before that, Mr. Paulton was a lobbyist and campaign consultant for five years, managing legislative and political campaigns in several states. John received his B.A. in History from San Diego Christian College. He and his wife, Sandy, have three children, including a daughter who is a health care policy analyst for The Heritage Foundation and a son who is a West Point cadet.
