President Donald Trump’s speech to a Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C., highlighted numerous pro-family wins, celebrating victories while claiming he is “just getting started.”
Among the significant comments made in the 100-minute-long speech were bold words calling for Congress to ban transgender procedures on children.
“I also signed an order to cut off all taxpayer funding to any institution that engages in the sexual mutilation of our youth,” Trump said. “And now I want Congress to pass a bill permanently banning and criminalizing sex changes on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body.”
“And our message to every child in America is that you are perfect exactly the way God made you,” the president continued.
The speech follows multiple executive actions by Trump to end transgender procedures for minors and to protect women’s sports since his return to office in January.
Trump also spoke out about the story of January Littlejohn, who was in attendance during the speech.
“My administration is also working to protect children from toxic ideologies in our schools. A few years ago, January Littlejohn and her husband discovered that their daughter’s school had secretly socially transitioned their 13-year-old little girl. Teachers and administrators conspired to deceive January and her husband while encouraging their daughter to use a new name and pronouns — they/them pronouns, actually — or without telling January, who is here tonight and is now a courageous advocate against this form of child abuse. January, thank you. Thank you,” Trump said.
“Stories like this are why, shortly after taking office, I signed an executive order banning public schools from indoctrinating our children with transgender ideology,” he added.
The president also said, “We’re getting wokeness out of our schools and out of our military, and it’s already out, and it’s out of our society. We don’t want it.”
These words closely align with the mission of FPA that you have supported. Together, we are seeing victories as we continue to protect families, children, and our religious freedom.
As a team, we prayed ahead of Tuesday’s speech and asked you to pray as well. We want to thank you for joining us as God worked in response with strong support of our efforts together.
The battle is far from over, yet we are thankful for how your support with FPA is impacting lives, from your own house to the White House.
Let’s continue to pray, vote, and engage as we seek to promote godly family values in the days ahead.
Sincerely,
Craig DeRoche
