Along with our allies at Center for Christian Virtue, we have an urgent request for your help.
Governor DeWine has chosen to veto the Save Adolescents From Experimentation (SAFE) Act – Substitute House Bill (H.B.) 48, a bill that protects our children from the irreversible harm of gender transition procedures and ensures female athletes are not forced to compete against boys. You helped us get this bill passed, and now we need your help once again to get it across the finish line!
The SAFE Act, would prevent healthcare practitioners from performing dangerous, irreversible gender transition surgeries on children, including mastectomies or “top surgery.” It would also prohibit using puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoria in children. These procedures also cause irreversible harm, like infertility and body changes, but they are lucrative for children’s hospitals.
The SAFE Act also protects female athletes from having to compete against biologically male athletes in K-12 education and at the collegiate level. Currently, biological males are allowed to compete in women’s sports at every level in Ohio. This denies women and girls opportunities to compete for the scholarships and championships that their hard work deserves. Parents are now concerned for their daughters’ opportunities and physical safety during play.
We need you to send a message to your legislator today urging them to act swiftly to protect our kids and right this wrong before more children are hurt.
Our kids deserve to be kept safe from predatory medical procedures. And no female athlete should have to compete against a biological man for championships and opportunities.
Please send a message to your senator using the form at the bottom of this page. By doing so, you will help ensure Ohio law helps, not harms, our kids.
