In a political environment brimming with legislators seeking fame, attention, and power, it is refreshing to work with legislators who conduct themselves with humility, thoughtfulness, and diligence.

Rep. Sage Dixon is one of that rare breed of legislators who exemplifies the characteristics that the Bible teaches people to look for in their civil leaders: “Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness” (Exodus 18:21, NKJV).

Rep. Dixon has been genuinely involved in affairs of North Idaho for many years as a businessman, speech and debate coach, and through volunteer service on various efforts to protect the constitutional rights of Idaho citizens. He attended Family Policy Foundation’s Statesmen Academy where he was trained in the art of statesmanship—and how to stand strong for values despite the pressure while in office.

Rep. Dixon has a sterling voting record on issues that matter to Idaho families. He voted for the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act that keeps biological boys out of girls’ high school and college sports. He also voted for the Idaho Vital Statistics Act that prevents people from changing the sex marker on the birth certificates to match their “feelings” about gender.

Furthermore, he has proven himself to be strongly pro-life, giving his imprimatur of support for the “Choose Life” license plate that will be available at the DMV next year, as well as voting to defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers by blocking them from receiving local taxpayer monies. He also voted to pass Simon’s Law, which protects parental rights in medical decision-making by requiring that parents receive notification before a doctor withdraws life-sustaining treatment from a minor child.

Deep Christian faith motivates Rep. Dixon and governs his votes and conduct. An example of this is the legislative prayer meeting he started, which gathers twice a week during legislative session and is open to all legislators, their staffs, and members of other government agencies.

Family Policy Alliance of Idaho® is excited to endorse Rep. Sage Dixon in his reelection campaign for House District 1, Seat B. We’re honored to have Rep. Dixon as an alumnus of the Family Policy Foundation’s Statesmen Academy and we are proud to stand behind him as he serves with excellence in the Idaho State House of Representatives.

Statesmen Alumnus, Sage Dixon, goes to the polls on November 6.

We were up into the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday awaiting results from Idaho’s election. While, the race for governor was called almost as soon as the polls closed, it took well into yesterday to hear about many of the other races that we engaged in across Idaho. Across the state, we engaged in nine different races and eight of those candidates were victorious. Included in those wins is an alumnus of Statesmen Academy®, Sage Dixon, who won with 66% of his district.

We are saddened by the passage of Medicaid expansion and what the passage of that initiative will mean for pre-born babies across Idaho. But we will never stop fighting to ensure that women are aware of all the life-giving options available to them. On the whole, we are encouraged by the results in Idaho and the direction of the state.

These results only happen because each of you did your part in making your voice heard. Because of you, Idaho will continue to be a place that fights for each person’s God given rights and value.

Now our focus turns to the legislative session which begins in just two short months. We are excited to work with Governor-elect Little to pass legislation that will promote families and protect your values. Our team is working hard to prepare legislation that will advance these values. Be on the lookout for more information in the coming weeks and prepare to work with us throughout the legislative session.

Excited for the days ahead,

Brittany Jones
Policy Director
