Family Policy Alliance President Emeritus Tom Minnery passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 24, 2022. His impact and legacy will continue to be felt across the country – in the policies he helped shape; the state Family Policy Councils he helped nurture into existence; in the ministries he served in, led or helped govern; and in the countless lives he touched. While we grieve his loss in this life, we celebrate that he has now seen his Savior’s face, while continuing to pray for his family and all those who miss him dearly.

Following are reflections on the legacy Tom leaves:

Tom Minnery, the first Statesmen Academy Director, with Amanda Banks, the current Statesmen Academy Director.

Statement from Family Policy Alliance President & CEO, Craig DeRoche

Family Policy Alliance and Family Policy Foundation spent this Christmas Eve and Day both mourning and celebrating the extraordinary life of our president emeritus, Tom Minnery.

It is an objective statement to say that our organizations would not exist, nor would they be in a position for the incredible impact made each day, without Tom answering the call to serve in the role of first president of the newly independent CitizenLink, an organization spun out of Focus on the Family, where Tom had served for 26 years as a Senior Vice President of Government & Public Policy.

The richness of our thoughts of Tom reflects countless personal time with Tom in so many different capacities. Although some may have thought him a quiet man, each of us can readily remember when Tom engaged in one of the many facets of his service in God’s kingdom work to know his words consistently resounded with the authority and clarity only resident in a powerful servant of Jesus.

Praising God for a Good and Faithful Servant
A personal reflection from FPA Chief of Staff Sonja Swiatkiewicz

On Christmas Eve, we heard the news that the Lord had called home His good and faithful servant, and my friend and mentor, Tom Minnery.
