Earlier this year, something remarkable happened in our nation’s capital.
Over the course of a week, nearly 500 readers gathered at the Museum of the Bible for 84 hours of Scripture reading, reading God’s Word aloud from Genesis to Revelation as America celebrated its 250th year.
America Reads the Bible brought together people from across the country around the truth that has shaped generations of Americans: God’s Word.
Family Policy Alliance was honored to host this historic gathering alongside pastors, ministry leaders, elected officials, state Family Policy Councils, community leaders and friends from across the conservative movement. President Trump, members of his Cabinet and other national leaders joined in reading Scripture, and Franklin Graham was among the many voices who helped make the week so meaningful.
Thousands joined us in Washington, D.C., and millions more watched from across the country.
But America Reads the Bible was never meant to be a moment we simply looked back on.
As our nation approaches the midterm elections, we believe there could not be a more important time to return to Scripture and pray for America.
Throughout the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing some of our favorite readings and moments from America Reads the Bible across our social media channels. We hope they encourage you to open your Bible, pray for our nation and its leaders, and consider how God is calling you to faithfully engage in your community and country.
