Dear Friends,
Two hundred and fifty years ago, the Continental Congress declared May 17, 1776, a national day of “fasting, humiliation, and prayer” as America stood at the dawn of independence.
Now, as our nation marks 250 years since our founding, believers across the country are once again being invited to humble ourselves before God and pray for America.
This Sunday, May 17, Americans will gather in Washington, D.C. and across the nation for Rededicate 250, a national day of prayer, worship, thanksgiving, and renewal.
Centered on gratitude for the first 250 years of American freedom and prayer for the next 250 years to come, the gathering will feature worship, military tributes, and messages from faith leaders and public servants including Speaker Mike Johnson, Dr. Ben Carson, Franklin Graham, Chris Tomlin, Eric Metaxas, and many others.
Family Policy Alliance and Foundation are honored to help spread the word about this special day. We encourage you to join in however you can:
- Pray and fast on May 17 for wisdom, unity, renewal, and freedom in America
- Share this with your pastor, church, family, and friends
- Attend in Washington, D.C., if you are able
At a time of division and uncertainty, what could happen if millions of Americans paused to seek God together once again?
As President Trump wrote in his proclamation declaring 2026 a Year of Celebration and Rededication, this is a time to “reflect on our abundant blessings, pray for our country and our people, and rededicate ourselves as one Nation under God.”
We hope you will be part of this historic day.
