You, along with parents and pro-family lawmakers across the country, brought the Biden Administration into complete meltdown status this week—and Disney to full damage control. Why? Because the pro-family movement across the states is gaining traction, and the DC elites and woke corporation don’t know how to handle it.
In the past month alone, Iowa, Utah, Oklahoma and Arizona all have new laws to keep sports fair and ensure that girls’ sports are reserved only for girls. Now 14 states have laws protecting young female athletes. This became especially important after the nation witnessed the NCAA throw female athletes under the bus in permitting Lia Thomas, a biological male, to compete against—and take medals and finalist spots from—female swimmers. The Utah legislature even overrode their Republican governor’s veto of their save girls’ sports bill to ensure their female athletes are protected. The Indiana legislature will have the opportunity to do the same thing soon.
Just this week, Arizona signed into law a bill that protects children from irreversible “gender transition” surgeries—such as double mastectomies on young girls. The new law will give Arizona’s children an opportunity to grow up and resolve any struggles with how they perceive their bodies, without leaving lasting physical and emotional scars.
In Florida, after a showdown between Disney and Governor DeSantis, the Governor signed into law a bill that protects young children in kindergarten through third grade from sexualized instruction and reinforces the rights parents have to know what’s going on with their children at school. The media framed this as the “don’t say gay” bill, and the Walt Disney Company applied immense pressure in the state to try to stop the bill—turning against their own family consumers.
In the end, Governor DeSantis and Florida families, especially children, won. Polling consistently shows that Americans, Floridians, and even Florida Democrat voters strongly support the new law. This is surprising to the radical Left that continues to pedal a radical sexual ideology, but it shouldn’t be. Parents know to act in the best interest of their children.
Disney is learning they took the wrong side in this debate. And, they’re also dealing with leaked videos of their executives proudly planning to embed sexual themes into children’s shows and some of their employees arrested in a human trafficking sting. Now Florida’s duly elected leaders—including Governor DeSantis—are considering repealing a 50-year-old law that allows Disney to “govern itself” in its parks in Florida.
To sum up, American families and state legislatures are pushing back against the harmful woke ideology that claims a child can be “born in the wrong body” and that young children should be taught sexual themes in school. You are making a difference!
Meanwhile, the Biden Administration had a full-on meltdown yesterday in response to these strong state laws and the pushback against their woke agenda. They proudly flew the “transgender flag” from the Department of Health and Human Services while putting out a series of messages calling these state efforts to protect female athletes and children “extreme” and “harmful.”
Since when is believing that girls’ sports should be fair and only for girls “extreme”?
The truth is that you are the main obstacle holding back the Biden Administration’s agenda. Your voice to protect children, your stand for girls’ sports, and your advocacy in your own state is what’s slowed down the woke agenda. The Biden Administration’s number one priority was to pass a sweeping LGBT law forcing radical sexual ideology in every aspect of American law and life—and silencing dissenters. That law remains stalled out, lacking support, while more and more states fight to save girls’ sports and protect children from gender ideology in their schools and doctor’s offices.
Our stand together to protect children has been strong, and the White House knows it. That’s why the Biden Administration is fighting so hard, despite a lack of support from the American people, to force their agenda.
It’s been a good week for families—especially for children. This momentum would not happen without you. From the bottom of our hearts, the Family Policy Alliance team wants to thank you for partnering with us, raising your voice, and fighting to protect children.
Standing with you,
Exec. Vice President, Strategy
P.S. Many more states continue to advance strong legislation to protect children and young women athletes. Family Policy Alliance and the alliance we host of state family policy councils will need to rally support for these bills to get across the finish line. We also expect new regulations from the Biden Administration that will harmfully impact children—especially girls—to be released at any time. Please prayerfully consider a generous gift to support our ministry as we fight for legal protections for families and children!
News that Disney would stand against legislation in Florida hit the news earlier this month. The legislation would simply ensure that young children in the Florida Public Schools are not exposed to discussions of sexual practices.
It blew up in the press recently when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called out Disney’s corporate activism. DeSantis said, “You have companies like Disney that…criticize parents’ rights.” He went on to add, “Our policies must be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not on the musing of woke corporations.”
This latest skirmish between families and corporations comes after years of watching “progressive” activism rise within some of the largest companies on the planet. They threaten, lobby, spend millions of dollars, and pressure state and local governments to rewrite the laws to reflect some of the most anti-free-speech arguments of the modern age.
In a 1971 memo to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, future Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell warned that “the American economic system is under broad attack.” He wrote, “One of the bewildering paradoxes of our time is the extent to which the enterprise system tolerates, if not participates, in its own destruction.”
Powell referenced a 1971 article from The Wall Street Journal highlighting how General Motors was “plainly in trouble” because of its refusal to stand up to the Marxist bromides of that day. As a result, business executives were learning what college administrators had to learn; “One radical demand was conceded… only to be followed by a fresh crop which soon escalated to what amounted to a demand for outright surrender.”
Sadly, Justice Powell’s warning seems to have been forgotten. This month, the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce took special pains to advocate for a “bias-crimes” ordinance to be on “the right side of history.” The argument from the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce has been that large corporations like Wal-Mart, Amazon, Microsoft, and others will not do business in Wyoming unless we bow to the woke demands of some within their corporate structure.
Such an idea makes little sense. The massive Wal-Mart distribution center in Laramie County and the numerous Wal-Mart stores across the state are not likely to close if Wyoming refuses to go woke. Amazon will not cease its sales to Wyoming citizens if we refuse to go with its woke agenda. Microsoft is unlikely to shut down its data facilities because Wyoming stands up to the Marxists within its corporate structure.
Like Ron DeSantis, it is time that Wyomingites stand up to call out those who demand conformity to radical ideology and say that “Our policies must be based on the best interest of Wyoming citizens, not on the musing of woke corporations” or of radicalized Chambers of Commerce for that matter.
Family Policy Alliance of Wyoming is gearing up for the election season across the state this year. We are looking for men and women who will stand firm for truth in their local communities. We need you to help us find men and women who will stand up for school boards, town councils, and the state legislature and help them get elected – to stand up for families and children in the public arena.
If you haven’t heard yet, here’s what Disney has been up to the last few weeks:
- Trying to donate millions of dollars to an LGBT activist organization
- Pressuring Florida’s governor to veto a pro-parent, pro-child bill in Florida
- Making statements that they will oppose similar bills in other states
At the center of the controversy? A Florida bill that ensures parents know what’s happening with their kids in schools, and protecting kids under age 10 from sexualized instruction at school.
In other words, a company that caters to families believes parents should not know what’s going on with their children at school—and that children under age 8 should receive sexualized instruction at school.
But Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has refused to bow down to this radical agenda.
Join us TODAY to hear from John Stemberger, the leader of Florida’s premier pro-family organization, Florida Family Policy Council. His organization has been at the center of advocating for families in Florida, not only in this bill but across issues. He’ll share what’s going on – and what you can do to help!

Bruno isn’t the only thing Disney wants to keep in the shadows.
Bruno, from Disney’s Encanto, inspired the rhythmically genius hit “we don’t talk about Bruno-no-no-no” that’s guaranteed to get stuck in your head at all hours.
Bruno’s “taboo” in the film, but the latest showdown between Disney and Florida’s Governor DeSantis reveals Disney is also keen on keeping parents in the dark about their own children.
A bill being considered in Florida gives parents the right to transparency into their children’s curriculum, to know about their children’s health and well-being, and to make decisions related to their health and education. Importantly, it also protects very young children—grade three and younger—from being exposed to instruction about sexual partners and preferences, and that they might be “born in the wrong body.”
Governor DeSantis supports the bill in question, HB 1557, and says he won’t be backing down because Florida families are more important than the attempted “wokeness” of any corporation.
While Disney’s CEO originally tried to stay out of politics, he caved to pressure from the nation’s largest LGBT lobbying group and stated that he opposes the bill.
In other words, the CEO of an empire that made its fortune catering to America’s parents and their children believes parents should not know what’s going on with their children at school—and that children under age 8 should receive sexualized instruction at school. Not even a spoonful of sugar can make this better for families.
It would be almost laughable if these ideas weren’t so dangerous to families—and especially children. Children need their parents to be their greatest protectors and advocates. And, that’s especially the case when children’s lives and bodies are being destroyed every day by harmful gender ideology.
Despite the fact that Disney has been dealing with major problems with the sexual behavior of its own employees—including the intended sexual exploitation of a minor and human trafficking just this month—their CEO hinted that the company may oppose parental rights protections like those in Florida’s bill in other states. Even today, Disney employees are reportedly staging a “walkout” to pressure the CEO and corporate leadership to do more in protest of the Florida bill and to use Disney’s resources to advocate for the LGBT political agenda.
That’s why we need your help now! Please join our OPEN LETTER TO DISNEY urging Disney to “let it go”—parents and their children are more important than woke political maneuvers.Just like Bruno needed to be talked about and brought back into the light, parents need to know what’s going on with their children and should not be kept in the dark.
DeSantis is right—parents should know-know-know-know.
For parents and their children,
Vice President, Strategy
P.S. Florida’s pro-parent, pro-child bill, HB 1557, is supported and shepherded by our ally in the Sunshine State, Florida Family Policy Council, and they are co-signers in our OPEN LETTER TO DISNEY. A special thanks to Florida’s FPC for their hard work for families! If you live in Florida and haven’t yet connected with Florida Family Policy Council, please partner with them today! They need your help to move forward leading family-friendly policies like HB 1557.
