Between Oct. 2021 and Mar. 2023, federal agencies received 13,000+ reports of financial sextortion of minors.

At least 20 child suicides have been linked to these crimes.

Predators pose as peers, manipulate minors into sending images, then demand money and threaten exposure.

Many of these crimes begin through anonymous messaging tools on mainstream apps.

This is preventable.

Lawmakers must act to:

  • Block anonymous messaging for minors by default
  • Strengthen protections against online sextortion
  • Restrict sexually explicit AI chatbots from interacting with minors
  • Require meaningful parental approval before risky apps are downloaded

This is basic protection—not politics.
