The “No Public Funds For Abortion Act” (HB220) was introduced in the Idaho House of Representatives last week. Rep. Bruce Skaug (R-Nampa), Rep. Brent Crane (R-Nampa), and Sen. Christy Zito (R-Hammett) are all bill sponsors.
The “No Public Funds For Abortion Act” would ‘defund’ abortion providers by cutting off their ability to receive taxpayer money. It would also:
- Prevent state and local money from being used to promote or provide abortions
- Keep Planned Parenthood sex education curriculum and student programs out of public schools
- Forbid public schools from promoting abortion or referring girls for abortion procedures
- End the distribution of abortifacients (like “Plan B” and “Ella”) at public college and university health centers
