Family Policy Alliance Participating in 2025 March for Life

January 24, 2025

Family Policy Alliance representatives are participating today in the 2025 March for Life in Washington, D.C., an annual event where tens of thousands of pro-lifers march on Capitol Hill on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to speak at the event today while President Trump is set to address the crowd via video.

With the historic overturning of Roe v. Wade, which grants states greater freedom to enact pro-life legislation, the mission to build a culture of life in the United States remains ongoing—but with a renewed focus. Despite this victory, over 900,000 abortions still occur annually, with estimates suggesting a post-Roe decline of only about 200,000 per year.

Significant national legislative battles lie ahead, including efforts to uphold the longstanding Hyde Amendment, which restricts government funding for abortion in annual appropriations bills, and the growth of abortion pills that now represent approximately half of all abortions in the country.

The National March for Life is committed not only to advancing pro-life laws at both the state and federal levels but also to shifting cultural perceptions so that abortion becomes unthinkable.

Here is a quick message from our Public Policy Director, Joseph Kohm, about what will be happening in the nation’s capital today and why this annual gathering of pro-life voices is so very important.

Joseph along with our Government Affairs Director, Dylan Jeremiah, will be joined throughout the day by representatives from many of the nation’s 40 state-level family policy counsels to represent the pro-life movement in America.

For Life,

The Family Policy Alliance Team
