COLORADO: There’s still time – the best way to make your voice heard!

April 23, 2025

Dear Friend,

As a Colorado friend of this ministry, I have good news and bad news to share with you today.

First, the bad news.

As I’m sure you know, Colorado HB 1312—a bill we’ve been telling you about the last few weeks—continues to threaten vulnerable children, parental rights, religious freedom, and free speech in the name of protecting “transgender” children. It has now passed the Colorado House and could be introduced in the Senate at any time.

Here’s the good news—it hasn’t been introduced yet, and our sources tell us this is because of the outcry that friends like you have been raising. That means you are making a difference!

But the battle isn’t over. If this bill is introduced in the Senate, we can expect it to pass easily—so we need to do everything we can to prevent its introduction.
That’s why I’m asking you to keep making your voice heard, and my team and I have a new way for you to do so.

Before you take action, though, I want to recap why this bill is so dangerous for all of us in Colorado, and why Family Policy Alliance will keep fighting to stop it. This bill:

  • Represents one of the most radical efforts we’ve seen to undermine parental rights, restrict free speech, and elevate government authority over the family.
  • Would silence those who offer guidance rooted in faith, biology, or reality—that no one can truly change their sex, no matter what “treatments” they have.
  • Would allow parents who lovingly express concerns about their child’s confusion to be accused of harmful behavior. Pastors, teachers, and counselors who uphold biblical truths about sex and gender may find themselves targeted simply for speaking with compassion and conviction—even going so far as to criminalize using a child’s birth name and pronouns.
  • Could classify using a gender-dysphoric child’s birth name or biological sex as abusive, potentially leading to loss of custody.

Here’s what we need you to do: Sign our petition opposing HB1312, and when you do, we’ll provide you with the phone numbers of state senators we need you to call to express your strong opposition to this bill.

You might be surprised who we’re asking you to call, but we’ll give you talking points so you can feel confident when you do. And I need to emphasize the importance of calling at this point in the legislative process, so please sign the petition so you can receive all of the information you need to take action today.

Together, let’s continue to pray and make our voices heard to protect our God-given rights and responsibilities.

For Colorado’s children,

Craig DeRoche
President & CEO
