Dear Friends,
What happened in Seattle on May 24 is a wake-up call for every American who cherishes faith and freedom.
During a peaceful, permitted Christian prayer rally hosted by Mayday USA, violent mobs of Antifa and LGBTQ+ activists descended upon Cal Anderson Park with one goal: to silence people of faith. They hurled urine-filled balloons, screamed threats through bullhorns, and physically assaulted worshippers, including families and children, gathered to pray.
Christians Engaged founder Bunni Pounds was on the front lines. She was invited to serve as a leader at the event and courageously stepped up to the challenge.
“We stepped into Seattle knowing that it was going to be different from previous cities we had visited, but when the Mayday USA Tour hit Cal Anderson Park in the heart of the Emerald City, it was unlike anything I had ever seen,” Bunni wrote.
“Hundreds of protesters showed up. I estimated from my vantage point in the middle of the Christians that there were 500 to 1,000 surrounding our permitted area with signs, bullhorns, extended fingers, and vulgar shouts,” she added.
But in a shocking display of political bias, the mayor of Seattle blamed the violence not on the radical agitators but on the Christian worshippers. In a statement, Mayor Bruce Harrell said the event was designed “to provoke a reaction by promoting beliefs that are inherently opposed to our city’s values.”
Enough is enough.
Christians from across the nation are speaking out. Even the FBI has opened an investigation to determine whether religious liberty was deliberately violated. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said it best: “Freedom of religion isn’t a suggestion.
This evening, the Mayday USA tour concludes in Los Angeles, with the city already changing preapproved permits and raising security concerns. Bunni will once again stand boldly in public witness for faith and freedom, and you can join her.
