Dear Friends,

Sanctity of Life Sunday is one week away, and we’d like you and your church to join us in prayer for life and mothers!

2022 saw the end of Roe v. Wade, and it is right that we praise God for this great victory protecting His image in the womb!

But we must also pray for the vulnerable women facing unplanned pregnancies and not knowing where to turn for help. AfterRoe.com can inform us of the abortion laws now in place in our states, but the Church has a light-bearing role to play in loving and supporting these mothers before and after the birth of their children. Some may even be called to adopt children in need of a forever home.

To that end, our team has come up with some graphics (below) and prayer points for you to share in your church on Sunday the 22nd to celebrate God’s protection of life and pray for present needs. We encourage you to join us in making Sanctity of Life Sunday a special time at your church.

  1. Pray for the end of abortion in all states.

20 states now fully protect life in the womb!

Sadly, 21 states have little to no protections for unborn life at any stage of a pregnancy.

The remaining states remain places of vulnerability for unborn life and mothers.

  1. Pray for the humanity and sanctity of unborn life to be recognized and valued.

Jeremiah 1:5 states, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Each human life is precious in the eyes of God with a unique DNA and characteristics. Let us pray that each precious life is valued by the world.

  1. Pray that churches support and encourage women in crisis pregnancies.

From throwing a mom a baby shower to supplying tangible needs, churches have an incredible opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to women in the community who are struggling with an unexpected pregnancy, both before and after they give birth. Hosting foster care and adoption orientations also provides families in the church a way to care for children seeking forever families.

  1. Pray for the safety of crisis pregnancy centers and other groups that serve women.

There are more than 2,700 pregnancy centers across the nation that serve women and their families by providing everything from basic necessities to ultrasounds. Following the release of the Dobbs decision, we witnessed attacks on hundreds of pregnancy centers and pro-life organizations. Thankfully, the House of Representatives this week passed a resolution condemning this violence. Let us continue to support and pray for these facilities that care well for the women that walk in their doors.

  1. Pray that more leaders in government, churches and business step up to defend life.

As we seek ways to protect life, let us pray for our leaders that they would have boldness to speak up for the life of the unborn and their mothers and creatively find ways to serve the most vulnerable among us.

As we head into the long weekend to celebrate the legacy and life of Martin Luther King Jr., let us never forget his words, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” to prepare our hearts for Sanctity of Life next Sunday. Abortion is an unthinkable injustice for the millions of lives we have lost and for the mothers who have had to overcome extreme hardship in losing their child. “Lord, break our hearts for what breaks Yours.”For Life,

Macy Petty stood outside the Supreme Court, awaiting news of its decision. The announcement came: Roe v. Wade had been overturned. Macy fell to the ground in tears of joy.

Then, California Democrats – and Hillary Clinton – used her image to promote their radical pro-abortion agenda, calling her tears “sad.”

It’s part of a bigger trend this year. We are well into the 2022 election season, and you’ve probably seen countless abortion-themed ads from the Left.

With less than a week to go till Election Day, it’s time to answer the question: why is the Left so obsessed with abortion?

Join us TODAY to get the answer. Hear from Family Policy Alliance’s Craig DeRoche and Autumn Leva as they discuss what YOU need to know about this election. Plus, watch a special guest appearance from Macy Petty as she shares her compelling story.

Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, President Biden, Senator Schumer, and Speaker Pelosi are trying to appease their base by pushing an onslaught of radical abortion policies.

Speaker Pelosi pitched a fit the day Roe v. Wade was overturned, and today she brought two extreme abortion bills to the House floor for a vote, H.R. 8296 and H.R. 8297.

H.R. 8296 will allow abortion-on-demand in every state if enacted into law and H.R. 8297 will protect abortionists and hurt women if enacted into law. The House passed both bills today by a vote of 219-209.

When the votes were brought up on the floor, Representatives Michelle Fischbach (MN-7) and Mike Johnson (LA-04) stepped up to the plate and brought motions to vote on the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act. But Democrats balked at the common-sense protections for children outside of the womb who survive abortions and voted down the motions—proving how extreme Democrat leadership has become in their abortion policy.

The Senate pitched a fastball with a bill that shields abortionists from state laws that protect life and promotes women traveling across state lines to have abortions. Thankfully, Sen. Lankford (OK) cried “foul!” and was able to stop the bill in its tracks.

President Biden is trying to score as many points with the far-left base as he can by pushing abortion policies through the Executive Branch. Last week, he issued an Executive Order protecting “mobile abortionists,” seeking to discredit pregnancy care centers, creating legal cover for the abortion industry, and spreading the abortion poison pill.

The President is also trying to load his bases with federal agencies. For instance, the Department of Justice created a “Reproductive Justice Task Force” to fight pro-life laws and spread dangerous chemical abortions. The Department of Health and Human Services issued guidelines attempting to force pharmacists to provide abortifacients.

With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, we know we are not in the last inning! And we know that protecting life is not a political game.

While the left’s batting average is failing the American people, we will not stop fighting for the life and well-being of preborn children and their mothers. When abortion is unthinkable and life is cherished, we win.

While the nation waits to find out if the Supreme Court will actually overturn Roe v. Wade, we’re thrilled to invite you to hear from one of the lawyers asking the Court to abandon Roe.

Join us TODAY to hear from Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch. You may know that the Dobbs case everyone is watching – the case that might overturn Roe – started in Mississippi. The state passed a law protecting babies as young as 15 weeks old – and they’ve been busy defending it in court ever since! When the case reached the Supreme Court this December, though, they made a bold decision to ask the Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. Now, it could be the case that finally ends the reign of Roe, which has led to the death of more than 62 million Americans.

Dear Friends,

I wanted to pass along to you a very timely and important opportunity to join in on a national prayer gathering related to the impending Supreme Court Decision in the Dobbs case. As you know the landmark decision, Roe v. Wade, which sought to legalize abortion in 1973 hangs in the balance and a decision could come any day.

The Dobbs decision will have many repercussions. We have updated our AfterRoe website with all the latest information. If you have read the news lately, you also know that intimidation and violence surrounding this eventual decision is ramping up across the nation.

It is for these reasons that this evening a number of national and state groups are engaging in a prayer assembly for the Dobbs decision and the effects it is now having (and others it will soon have) on our nation.

You are invited to join in-person if you are in Chattanooga, TN or you can participate from anywhere online at the link below.

Here are the details:

A very blessed and joyous Mother’s Day to your family from the Family Policy Alliance team!

What an incredible week to see a Supreme Court leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, ending an invented constitutional “right” to abortion, on the same week that we celebrate Mothers!

Our own Senior Vice President of Strategy, Autumn Leva, who recently gave birth to her second daughter, wrote in The Daily Signal what the end of Roe‘s deadly 49-year reign would mean and what the best Mother’s Day gift would be for 2022.

There is a universal truth felt deeply by every mom, found somewhere at the convergence of joy, pride, and heartbreak. The truth is our babies are not really our own. They are ours to raise, guide, care for and cherish—and above all, to love always—but they are unique persons, bearing the image of God, called to their own special purposes, and, though reflecting their parents in appearance and traits, created entirely different from anyone else.

As moms, we feel this truth profoundly from the moment we see their first tiny ultrasound picture, to when we feel their first fluttering kicks while they are nestled safely inside, to when we finally hold them in our arms the very first time, to that first act of defiance as a toddler, to when we wave goodbye at the kindergarten classroom, and to when we finally send them off to fulfill whatever calling God has on their lives.

But this truth is never more obvious to me than when I am holding them both close, feeling the weight of this moment in history where Roe v. Wade may be
overturned. They may actually grow up in a country without the shadow of Roe.

Read Autumn’s full piece, The Best Mother’s Day Gift: Overturning Roe, at the Daily Signal.

Happy Mother’s Day!

The Family Policy Alliance Team

On Monday at 8:32 p.m., Politico published the draft opinion that shook the world.

Family Policy Alliance team members, in Colorado and scattered around the nation, were mostly at home with their families. But within minutes, they were off and running – and have hardly slowed down since.

Here’s a quick and very abbreviated look at what your support made possible in this momentous week:

That’s a lot – and you did it through your support of Family Policy Alliance.

Of course, other issues didn’t stop. In the meantime, we were still busy on things like the Biden Administration’s Title IX rule on “gender identity” and an HHS proposal to force coverage of transgender procedures – plus continuing state legislative battles.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this vital work possible! If you’d like to invest in our work next week and beyond, we’d be grateful. May God bless our continued work together.

Sincerely,

John Paulton
Vice President, State Alliances

Dear Friend,

This week, we experienced a political earthquake. The leaked decision revealed a Supreme Court intent on overturning Roe v. Wade. And the Left came unhinged.

In the process, we got two sneak peeks:

And that’s where my urgent concern arises. So far, Planned Parenthood and their allies are simply better equipped for that battle. That’s because the abortion industry is raising money like it never has before!

One Big Tech titan just poured $275 million into Planned Parenthood and their state affiliates. That’s on top of $3.4 billion in annual cashflow for nearly 200 pro-abortion groups around the country.

Abortion groups are about to go hog wild with that money for three things:

Yes, the battle is headed to the states. And for 18 years – since we started as Focus on the Family Action – the states have been our prime focus. Electing state leaders. Training state legislators. And serving an alliance of 40 state allied groups.

Critical needs are already taking shape. An allied state leader just told us that they are gearing up for a generational fight, with the abortion industry likely to file a ballot measure on the heels of a Supreme Court decision that lets states decide.

That state illustrates what’s at stake: Within six months, virtually all babies there could be protected OR abortion could be enshrined in the state constitution!

That leads me to an urgent request. Family Policy Alliance needs your financial support for the state-by-state battles ahead.

We don’t need to match every Planned Parenthood dollar. After all, we have the Truth on our side. But we must be competitive! And by joining with thousands of others – each giving something of significance – you will stand toe-to-toe with Planned Parenthood in the most critical battles, state-by-state.

The support of friends like you has helped Family Policy Alliance prepare for this moment for a long time:

If you’ve been a part of making that possible, thank you for laying the foundation.

Now, will you equip the pro-life team for winning action? Please join this effort today with your best gift to stand against the onslaught from Planned Parenthood and their pro-abortion allies!

It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for. With God’s help, let’s go win!

For Life,

Craig DeRoche
President & CEO

P.S. I need you to go big today! We finally have a chance to fully protect life. Your gift, now more than ever, will go to the front lines to save little lives, state by state.

Bustling energy. That’s what it felt like outside the Supreme Court last week while the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case was being debated inside the chamber. Last Wednesday, this case questioned the Mississippi law that bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Our FPA team members were joined by hundreds of other pro-lifers who feel the exact same way. We loved seeing pregnant mothers, their children, young women, fathers, and countless others being the voice for the voiceless

We were all there united in the fight for life!

Just the day before, The Federalist wrote an exclusive on our After Roe campaign. Meridian Baldacci, director of strategy for Family Policy Alliance, told The Federalist: “No matter what happens with Dobbs, we are confident of two things. Roe’s time is short, and pro-lifers across the country need to prepare for that coming reality now… But a reversal of Roe by the Supreme Court would not automatically outlaw abortion across the country, either.”

Craig DeRoche, CEO of
Family Policy
Alliance,
interviews Cathi Herrod,

President of Center for
Arizona Policy.

If Roe is overturned, most legal experts agree that states would decide if they are pro-life or pro-death.

At Family Policy Alliance, we are grateful to host an alliance of family policy councils in states around the country who are already on the ground fighting for life. Many of those allies were able to join us at the Supreme Court, and we streamed live interviews with our President Craig DeRoche about what would happen in those states if Roe were overturned. You can still watch those interviews here!

If the Supreme Court overturns Roe and returns the regulation of abortion back to all 50 states, what does my state look like in a post-Roe world? We have an interactive map with state-by-state information for you. Check out what your state would look like here!

Meridian Baldacci interviewed with MSNBC, doing an incredible job covering our After Roe campaign and discussing FPA’s mission. This network is not well known for its friendliness towards conservative voices, but they did interview with us. However, they never aired it. Based off of their news coverage last week, they were more interested in covering the abortion industry’s side than ours.

We were excited to see Fox News run a story covering our After Roe campaign and pro-life efforts of our allies across the movement. Read here: If Roe v. Wade is overturned, here’s what happens.

Our President Craig DeRoche said to Fox News: “Family Policy Alliance, together with family policy councils across the nation, stands ready to compete with the abortion industry — and win! — for every precious life.”While pro-lifers were waving signs like “Equality begins in the womb,” “Life is a Human Right,” and “Overturn Roe,” the abortion industry passed out these small abortion pill boxes. It was as if they were passing out candy. Inside was a QR code that leads to information falsely stating that these chemical abortion pills are “safe, effective.” The site goes on to say, “you can order pills to have on hand before you’re even pregnant,” and they’re “widely available for about $100.” Young children were walking around the Supreme Court holding onto these boxes, not knowing the serious harm these chemical abortion drugs bring to women across the country.

As aggressive as the pro-abortionists were, pro-lifers far outnumbered the abortionists at the Supreme Court last week. For example, Liberty University, a Christian college in Virginia, sent over 900 students and Concerned Women for America, a conservative pro-women organization, brought over 1,000 women. We were able to interview with people on both sides of this life debate, and it was encouraging to see such a courageous young generation standing for life.

Watch this video to hear directly from them HERE:

At the end of the day, here’s our After Roe vision: 50 pro-life states. We can’t do this without our allies and without you! It takes a village. Pictured here you’ll find President of the March for Life Jeanne Mancini and our very own FPA Vice President of Education Amanda Banks. Both of these women have fought tirelessly for life. Amanda is raising her own family while fighting for family values at FPA. She made the time to be a huge support for our team last week at the Supreme Court, and we are incredibly thankful for her.

Jeanne heads up the March for Life, which will take place Friday, January 21, 2022. Every year, thousands of young people show up and march across D.C. – standing for life! Find more information here about the March for Life if you would like to get involved.

After 49 horrific years, we are prepared for Roe’s reign of terror to end. Our FPA team members continue to show up in big ways like they did last week at the Supreme Court. We all share the same vision, the same mission, and the same strong desire to see a pro-life America.Thank you for what you’re doing in your corner of the country to promote life!
