Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer are desperate to protect and promote unlimited abortion across the country. They know the U.S. Supreme Court could soon overturn Roe v. Wade.

Their latest effort involves H.R. 3755, which has already passed the House. We expect the Senate will vote to advance it on MONDAY. This bill would allow abortion-on-demand in every state if enacted into law. This is the first time the Senate has ever voted on such an expansive abortion bill.

Tell your Senator to vote NO on H.R. 3755!

If enacted, H.R. 3755 would:

Tell your Senator to reject abortion-on-demand and to stand for our first American value—the right to life. Click here to send a message to your Senator to VOTE NO on H.R. 3755 through our Action Center—it takes less than 1 minute!

Dear Friends:

As some of you may recall, in 2015, under the leadership of pro-life elected officials, the New Mexico House of Representatives passed parental notification for minors seeking abortions and a late-term abortion ban. Unfortunately, both bills were later defeated in the New Mexico Senate Public Affairs Committee, with all 5 Democrats on the committee voting to block the bill from moving forward.

What does this have to do with 2018? Well, because the Senate defeated those bills 3 years ago, today, a minor can still obtain an abortion in New Mexico without a parent being notified and abortions continue to be performed well into the third trimester of pregnancies.

The consequences of inaction are sobering. This week, while combing through emails, I was reminded why these two pieces of legislation are so critical, not only for the well-being of the pre-born child, but also for the health and safety of the mother. The following two stories should deeply concern us all.

  1. Alabama abortion facility covers up the sexual abuse of a child — twice

As reported by Live Action, an Alabama abortion facility failed to report two abortions performed on a 13/14 year-old child within 15 months — a violation of Alabama state law. The law requires abortion facilities to report the names of pregnant minors and the father of the child, if the father is 2 years older than the mother. In cases where the mother is under the age of 14, her information must be reported regardless of the father’s age. In this case, the facility staff did not report any information to the state and disregarded evidence of sexual abuse and possible sex trafficking.

Consider this: New Mexico has some of the fewest restrictions on abortion in the nation. As a result, we have become an abortion magnet for women living in states with tougher reporting requirements and restrictions including parental notification. Sex traffickers are known to frequently take young girls to abortion clinics to get rid of the evidence and adults have been caught taking minors across state lines to avoid parental notification or consent requirements.

  1. Mother of young woman who died during late-term abortion seeks wrongful death investigation

As reported by New Mexico Alliance for Life (NMAFL), the mother of a 23-year-old Albuquerque woman who died from complications related to late-term abortion is seeking a wrongful death investigation. According to reports, the young woman was healthy with no prior medical history. 24 weeks into her pregnancy, she began a multi-day, late-term abortion procedure at Southwestern Women’s Options abortion facility, a dangerous procedure known to carry high risk. She was then abruptly transported to University of New Mexico Hospital – where she died.

Consider this: In New Mexico, abortions may be legally performed up until the birth of the baby. The majority of late-term abortions are elective (meaning the life or health of the mother is not at risk) and they carry a much higher risk of complications for the mother. As cited by NMAFL, an American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Study indicates that when compared to abortion at 8 weeks pregnant, the relative risk of mortality increases by 38 percent for each additional week of pregnancy. This means a woman obtaining an abortion at 21 weeks or more is 91 times more likely to die from the abortion procedure than she was in the first trimester.

I will say it again—the consequences of inaction are sobering. Innocent children are dying, while young mothers’ lives are put at risk. Parents are left in the dark, while sexual predators are protected. And all the while, the multi-million dollar abortion industry benefits.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer (the 20th Century German pastor, theologian, and anti-Nazi dissident) once wrote: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”

Brothers and sisters—we must speak up and act! This June and November, we can do both by voting for pro-life candidates on the ballot. Together, let’s elect men and women who will stand for life and help turn part of our vision into a reality—a New Mexico where life is cherished.
