House Democrats Pass Atrocious Anti-Family, Pro-Abortion, Socialist Tax Spending Bill
Pelosi and her troops support massive abortion funding, Critical Race Theory, and relentless Equality Act agenda
WASHINTON, D.C. – Today, the House Democrats passed an atrocious human infrastructure bill, H.R. 5376, on a mostly party line vote of 220-213. This alleged “Build Back Better” Act filled with anti-family language includes a desperate push for the Woke D.C. agenda—Equality Act language, critical race theory, and abortion funding.
“This bill should be called the ‘Tear Down, not Build Back’ Act,” said Craig DeRoche, President & CEO of Family Policy Alliance “This bill shamefully makes American taxpayers complicit in taking American lives in abortion. It demeans every mother by labeling her a ‘pregnant, lactating, or postpartum individual,’ while pushing a radical agenda that claims any man can be a woman when he chooses. Clearly, Pelosi and nearly the entire Democratic caucus weren’t watching what just happened in Virginia. American families are tired of Woke DC’s agenda leaking into their homes and schools.”
The Republicans fought back against this massive 2,466-page bill. Last night, GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy gave the longest House floor speech opposing the Democrats’ absurd socialist tax and spending legislation (beating Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s previous record).
The U.S. House of Representatives send H.R. 5376 to the U.S. Senate for consideration. Family Policy Alliance will continue strongly opposing this bill in the Senate.
Background
This bill includes the following concerning measures:
Equality Act Language (SOGI)
- Multiple instances of promoting Equality Act language (sexual orientation, gender identity).
- Refers to mothers as “pregnant, lactating, or postpartum individuals” (12 times).
- Creates grant program of “$15,000,000 specifically to individuals based on their “sexual orientation or gender identity.”
Radical Left Policies in Public Schools
- Promotes so-called “equity” throughout the legislation (close to 40 times).
- Uses $1,270,000,000 of taxpayer dollars for public schools to create a “master plan to address…education equity.” The grant will likely be used to promote critical race theory and a radical liberal agenda in public schools.
Abortion Issues
- Allows taxpayer dollars to fund elective abortion and subsidize plans that cover election abortion.
- Contains several other pro-life problems, including creating funding streams that could be used for abortion facilities, or abortion training.
- Mandates abortion coverage in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for low-income families.
