Trump’s Executive Order Defines Sex as “Male and Female,” Ends Radical Gender Policies

President Donald Trump announced the signing of an executive order on Monday that establishes a government-wide recognition of the biological reality of two sexes—male and female.

The order removes all federal policies, communications, and forms influenced by radical gender ideology.

“As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” Trump said during his inaugural address.

Federal agencies will enforce laws protecting against sex discrimination based on biological definitions rather than gender identity.

The order mandates that government identification, including passports and personnel records, reflect biological sex instead of self-assessed gender identity. It also ends the housing of male inmates in women’s prisons and taxpayer-funded gender-transition procedures for prisoners.

The policy eliminates the requirement for using “preferred pronouns” and reinforces First Amendment protections, ensuring that individuals are not compelled to acknowledge gender identities that contradict biological reality. These protections extend to workplaces and federally funded institutions, such as schools.

This directive marks a significant shift in federal policy, reaffirming legal protections based on biological sex distinctions.

“This really was a defining issue of the campaign. The president is going to be fulfilling the promises he made on the trail,” an incoming senior Trump official stated. “Radical gender ideology has devastated biological truth and women’s safety and opportunity.”
