“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13
It’s an exciting time in the Muzio house! We are counting down the days until the arrival of our 3rd son (who we are calling “G-Baby,” our Georgia Baby). As a naturally impatient person, waiting to be introduced to someone who already holds my heart is proving no easier this time around than it was with the previous two.
But, praise the Lord, we are about halfway there.
At just shy of 20 weeks, we already know a number of things. We know he is a boy. That was something we found out at 12 weeks when the nurse whispered, “I’m not supposed to tell you this early, but I’m seeing a boy here.”
We’ve heard his strong heartbeat since our first appointment. He’s sucked his thumb for Mom and Dad. He’s showed off his jumping “skills” (which I hope surpass his dad’s). We’ve seen him make a fist and “shadow-box.” On the ultrasound, he’s clearly reacted to the voices of Mom and Dad and his brothers.
I don’t write all this to brag on how impressive my son is (which he, of course, is). I write this because my son is a person, he has always been a person, and he always will be. He has been formed by God, and is so, so loved by his Mom and Dad.
Despite this clear, visible, biblical AND scientific FACT, there are those who seek to kill thousands of babies just like my son every.
You read that right. The radical Left has proven time and again that they don’t value “choice,” they value the destruction of life. Now, to be clear, I’m not talking about the uninformed and scared mother who makes the wrong, sinful and regretful decision. Those mothers and anyone who ever regretted an abortion need our prayer and our love.
I’m talking about the institutionalized Left that zealously and unremorsefully pushes for abortion-on-demand with no limits.
Consider Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s “logic”: “Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”
Traditionally and to this day, those the Left wanted removed were disproportionately minorities. From its roots with Margaret Sanger and the eugenics movement, the pro-death movement has marketed abortion-on-demand to the poor and to non-whites.
Now, that movement has added a new class of people they consistently label “undesirable” – and that’s us.
Barack Obama dismissed us as those who “cling to guns and religion.” Hillary Clinton called us a “basket of deplorables.” Recently, Senators Dianne Feinstein and Bernie Sanders declared a sincere faith to be a disqualifier for public service. We, as Christians, appear to be a class of people the Left doesn’t “want too many of.”
I don’t want to overstate the argument. And my son is safe and secure in the hands of the Lord and will be forcefully protected by his father. But I have a real concern for the next generation. And the one after that. What of the babies losing their lives now? With an assault on the Right to Life, and a desensitization to abortion to the point where it mostly now happens with a pill and a cup of water – it is time to renew with fervor the momentum behind the pro-life movement.
At Family Policy Alliance of Georgia, we are committed to fighting for the preborn – in the 2018 legislative session and beyond. We won’t just trim the hedges and work to pass “box-checking” legislation that gives folks the warm and fuzzies while failing to save babies. We will work relentlessly over time to accomplish significant gains, to honor our God, and our ultimate goal is save all of those He has created. May God Bless this endeavor!
Did you know: At Family Policy Alliance of Georgia, we don’t ask candidates the easy question, “Are you pro-life?” Instead, we ask those we consider supporting whether they are committed to saving ALL innocent human life. We aren’t letting candidates get away with checking a box and giving themselves wiggle room. They must be truly committed to the cause. If you agree with this approach, please consider a contribution to our efforts.
I want you to know: It is a real joy to meet so many of you. We have great supporters around the state who give, who advocate, and who pray. I have so enjoyed the opportunity to meet such godly people. This week, I even had an opportunity to meet an individual who I connected with because of a response to one of these emails. So many of you inspire me and encourage our movement. Thank you!
Please Pray For: Irma did some serious damage. Some lost their lives. Others, including many friends to our ministry, had damage to their property. Please pray for all who suffered as a result of this hurricane.
