Conservative watchdog group 2ndVote is reporting that Macy’s has confirmed they will no longer donate money or match employee contributions to Planned Parenthood.
Lance Wray, a spokesperson for 2ndVote, told LifeNews.com about the announcement.
“You may remember how four companies (AT&T, Coca-Cola, Ford, and Xerox) publicly distanced themselves from Planned Parenthood last year after our research exposed forty-one companies with direct financial ties to the abortion giant,” he said. “Well, we are happy to report that we can take another company off that list—Macy’s, who confirmed with 2ndVote last week that they no longer give nor match donations to Planned Parenthood.”
Companies began feeling the pressure last year to rethink giving to America’s largest abortion seller after undercover videos revealed Planned Parenthood employees negotiating the sale of baby body parts.
David Bozell, president of conservative group ForAmerica, tweeted his congrats to 2ndVote on the announcement. He also called for others to follow Macy’s lead.
“If @Macys can turn off funding for @PPact,” he tweeted, “so too can the federal government.”
