TELL YOUR LEGISLATOR:
SUPPORT SCHOOL CHOICE

A new sexual orthodoxy is being imposed upon children in public schools — one which is endorsed and promoted by the state, and conflicts with the fundamental religious convictions of countless families. Therefore, the public school system is no longer inclusive to people of faith.

That’s why we support Senate Bill 3002 and Assembly Bill 3000. If these bills became law, parents would finally have an alternative if the local public school would not allow them to opt their child out of lessons that violated their fundamental beliefs. The alternative? A scholarship worth up to 75% of the cost of the student’s attendance at the local public school.

WHAT ARE THE FOUR PROBLEM AREAS IN PUBLIC SCHOOL CURRICULUM?

Shawn Hyland, Executive Director Family Policy Alliance of New Jersey, answers this question in his message to the congregation of Calvary Chapel Old Bridge church.

THE CONTROVERSIAL LESSONS AND MATERIALS

LGBT Curriculum

Lessons developed by Garden State Equality far exceed the requirements of the “contributions” law passed in 2019. Pilot program goals include:

Students will develop a toolkit to dismantle and confront the patriarchy, hyper-masculinity, and homophobia.

Students will connect and consider Intersectionality.

Students will learn to use inclusive language and transgender pronouns.

World Languages, such as Spanish, will have lessons critiquing the gender lexicon.

Sex Ed Learning Standards

In June 2020, the New Jersey Department of Education revised their learning standards for Health and Physical Education. Every public school district will be required to implement these learning standards in the 2022 school year. These new standards include:

13-year-old students must define explicit sex acts — vaginal, oral, and anal sex.

10-year-old students must be able to differentiate between sexual orientation and gender identity.

7-year-old students must list medical names for genitals in mature words as vagina, vulva, penis, scrotum, and define reproduction.

Transgender Identity Lessons in Kindergarten

On March 1, 2021, Governor Murphy signed into law a “diversity and inclusion” mandate that requires public schools to begin teaching sexual orientation and transgender identity lessons to 5-year-old students.

This will only complicate and confuse the understanding of human sexuality for 5-year-old children who are so young they are just learning to tie their shoes.

Language Arts Books

Controversial novels, even those deemed obscene and pornographic, have found their way into New Jersey public schools, despite parental outrage. One example is the graphic novel “Fun Home.” This book has detailed illustrations of lesbian oral sex. The book “George” has found itself on the American Library Association most challenged book list, yet it is reading material in 5th grade middle school classrooms in some districts.
